Exmoor is a special place of wild heather moorland, deep
wooded valleys, lanes full of wild flowers and an abundance
of wild life Red Deer, Exmoor Ponies and Buzzards. It
is a wonderful place to explore by car or on foot anytime
of year.
Our local pub and restaurant is the award winning The
Royal Oak of Luxborough and is within walking distance
and offers good food and real ale. There are many other
good pubs and restaurants in the area.
Nearby is the medieval village of
Dunster with its Castle (National Trust), working flour
Mill and Yarn Market. The restored Cleeve Abbey an English
Heritage site at Washford.
The seaside resort of Minehead with
its sandy beach, golf course, swimming pool and West
Somerset Steam Railway (W.S.R) is 10 miles away.
Other places of interest
to visit are Winsford, Wimberball Lake, Dulverton, Tarr
Steps, Exford,
Porlock, Lorna Doone Valley and Lynton and Lynmouth
with its unique water powered lift.
Horse riding, fishing are available nearby.
